🌲 TRIED TRAINERS BEFORE?

Here's why this time will be different.

Most of our clients have worked with someone else first. It usually didn't work because the training happened to their dog, not with them.

👩 We train you

Anyone can get a dog to sit at class but what happens when you leave. We coach you to become the person your dog listens to, at home, on walks, everywhere.

No one is born knowing how to train their dog-so don't worry!

🧠 We teach the why

When you understand how your dog learns, you stop guessing. The progress keeps going long after the session ends.

We always encourage questions!

✨ Techniques you haven't tried

Shaping, Operant Condition seminars and human-only classes that sharpen your skills. If you love learning, you'll love this.

No guilt.

No shame.

Just encouragement.

📱 Online + hands-on

A modern approach: train every day with short online lessons, and get hands-on coaching from your guides when it counts.

🧭 OUR MISSION

We are your guides.

We guide you on technique and through the ups and downs, the trials and tribulations, of creating a meaningful and long-lasting relationship with your dog. It is our firm belief, born from years of professional training, that you are the very best dog trainer your dog will ever have-and it's our goal to transform you into that!

We require work. Time, energy, and effort on your part.

If that's not what you're seeking, that's perfectly alright. There are plenty of other amazing dog trainers who are willing and eager to build that relationship between your dog and themselves. No judgement!

But if you want a real, strong, valuable relationship between you and your dog, and you're committed to the time, energy, and investment it takes to get there…

Then you’re exactly who we built this for!

🪧 THE TRAIL FORKS HERE

Choose your trail.

🏔️ THE SUMMIT

Wherever you two want to go.

A walk on a truly loose leash. Off-leash adventures in the mountains. Therapy dog visits. A service dog partnership that changes your life. The summit is different for every team, and it's always earned.

Because you became the person your dog trusts and listens to.

⛰️ IS THIS TRAIL FOR YOU?

The best things in life are worth working for.

You don't need experience, a perfect dog, or a perfect track record. You just need to be willing.

✅ You'll thrive with us if…

→ You want to learn, not hand your dog off

→ You're willing to practice, about 10 minutes a day

→ You're curious and open to new techniques

→ You dream of adventures: a loose leash, off-leash hikes, therapy work, a service dog partnership

Nervous is okay. Most of our pack started that way.

✖ We're not the right fit if…

→ You'd prefer someone else did the training for you

→ You're not willing to practice between sessions

→ Your dog's training isn't a priority right now

No judgment. Seasons of life are real. When you're ready, the trailhead will still be here.

“They trained me even more than they trained Rodeo.”

Rodeo used to be a runner… Now? He's a perfect angel off-leash. That change didn't happen by accident. If you want a dog you can truly enjoy life with, 10/10 recommend Kendall and Chandler every single time.

Taylor W. & Rodeo

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“It has actually been more than training.”

It has been learning to understand dogs' behavior, expectations, consistency, and the best way to change and redirect behaviors. Their online training program is outstanding, coupled with in-person classes and activities!

Cathy W. & Ranger Rick, Rhodesian Ridgeback

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“Working with them makes you love dog training.”

The only worthy dog trainers in northern Nevada that I have encountered (I have worked with several). They make the training process fun, understandable and easy. I can't wait to continue my journey with them.

H. Smith, Google Local Guide

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“I have now started my THIRD dog with them.”

As an owner I have learned how to communicate with my dog… We've done all sorts of training including agility courses, public access and generic polite manners. They have trained the trainer well!

🎒 PACK YOUR QUESTIONS

Before you set out

I've tried other trainers and it didn't work. Why would this be different?

You're not alone. Most of our clients have worked with someone before us. The difference is that we train you, and we teach you the why behind every step, so you're not dependent on a trainer to keep the progress going. Our clients tell us it's the first time training has actually made sense.

My dog embarrasses me in public. Is that something you can help with?

Absolutely, and please know you're in good company. Pulling, barking and lunging at other dogs are some of the most common things we help with. We'll build your confidence step by step, so you know exactly what to do in the moment, and the outings get calmer.

If your dog is reactive toward people, that needs a specialist. Our Pet Trail FAQ explains where to find the right help.

What training methods do you use?

We train using LIMA: least invasive, minimally aversive. In plain terms, we always start with the gentlest approach that works, and we never force your dog to learn.

We also believe in teaching you as many techniques as possible. The more tools you have, the better you can help your dog in any situation, at home, on the trail, or somewhere brand new.

Why do you ask so much of your clients?

Because the relationship you want with your dog can’t be built by someone else. A lot of people hope to hand their dog to a trainer and pick up a finished dog. What usually happens is the dog learns to listen to the trainer, then comes home and doesn’t listen to you. You’re the person who matters most in your dog’s life, so you need to learn just as much as your dog does. It’s the only way the training really sticks, and once you’ve learned it, it’s yours to keep and bring to every dog you have after this one.

Can I do it all online, or do I have to come in person?

Club Doghouse is built so you can train every day from anywhere. Your library, weekly lessons, guided path and community are all online, on your phone or computer.

Private sessions, in person or by video, are there whenever you want personalized help or a fresh set of eyes. You can do most of your training online and book a session whenever you hit a tricky spot.

I don't have time to train. Will this work for me?

Yes, if you make it a priority. It doesn’t take much: about 10 minutes a day is enough. What matters is doing a little every day, not finding big blocks of time.

Here’s what we’ve seen. Most people come to us because of one problem, like pulling on the leash or jumping on guests. They start strong, but as the problem fades from memory, so does the training. The people who succeed are the ones who decide their dog’s training matters and keep showing up, even in small ways.

And the best part is it doesn’t have to feel like training at all. Think about how you teach a child to say thank you. Nobody sits their kid down for 100 reps of “thank you, ready, begin.” You just ask for it every time you hand them something, and before long it’s second nature. Dog training works the same way. Ask for a sit before dinner, a wait at the door, a check-in on your walk. Build it into the life you’re already living, and you’ll find the time was there all along.

I'm not techy. Is the online part hard?

Yes. Club Doghouse works on both your computer and your phone, and if you can watch a YouTube video or post on Facebook, you have all the skills you need.

We know getting started can be the trickiest part. Logging in, finding the right videos and joining challenges can feel confusing at first, so every new member gets an orientation video that walks you through it step by step. Watch it once, and you’ll know exactly where everything is. If you're still stuck, we’re a phone call away.

What exactly do members get?

Members-only private session rates: $100/hr on the Pet Trail (non-members $150) and $150/hr on the Service Dog Trail (non-members $200).

Everything on the online trail, free:

  • Your training library: our full collection of step-by-step training videos, available any time.
  • Weekly Woofs: a new training lesson or tip sent to you every week.
  • Daily Paws: short videos from us talking through the emotions you might be feeling along the way, like frustration, doubt or burnout, with encouragement to keep you going.
  • Your Guided Path: a personalized roadmap that suggests which lessons to take next, so you always know where to go from here.
  • Club Doghouse: our private online community where members share wins, ask questions and get support from other dog owners and our team.
  • Monthly Challenges: a new challenge each month that the whole community takes on together.

Rewards for showing up consistently:

  • Badges you earn at each trail marker, the milestones you hit as you work through the training.
  • The Rewards Vault: bonus lessons and extras that unlock as you earn badges.

Service dog members also get:

  • The Working Dog Vault: training made specifically for service dog handlers. Learn how to teach tasks like mobility assistance and psychiatric support, plus public access guides covering specific locations, common pitfalls and the skills your dog needs to succeed out in the world.
  • Fireside Chat: a live monthly group video call with us and fellow service dog trainers where you can ask questions and get answers in real time, valued at $200.

Why become a member instead of just booking sessions?

Membership pays for itself quickly. Members save $50 on every private session, so on the Pet Trail, two sessions a month already covers the cost of your $69 pass. On the Service Dog Trail, three sessions covers your $149 pass.

But the savings are only part of it. In-person sessions are where breakthroughs happen. What you do between sessions is what makes them stick. After more than a decade of training, we’ve seen a clear pattern: clients who only work with us in person and then go quiet until their next appointment either progress very slowly, plateau, or sometimes slide backward. Your dog doesn’t know to hold on to a lesson until you come see us again.

Membership solves that. Between sessions, the online trail gives you guided practice so you’re never just waiting for the next appointment and hoping things hold together. You also don’t need to take perfect notes in the session or try to remember everything we covered, because the same concepts are in your library whenever you need them. Come back to it at midnight. Watch it three times. Share it with your partner.

And then there’s the community. Dog training can feel lonely, especially when you’re having a hard week and wondering why your dog suddenly seems to have forgotten everything. Club Doghouse is full of people in exactly the same spot, celebrating wins alongside you and reminding you that the hard days are part of the trail.

Is the online program really free?

Yes. There's no separate charge for the online trail. It's included with your membership, alongside your member rate on private sessions.

What happens if I cancel my membership?

You can cancel anytime, with no contracts. We know life has its ups and downs, and priorities change. When you cancel, you keep full access through the end of the period you’ve already paid for.

After that, all online access ends, including the training library, the community, your rewards, and for service dog members, the Working Dog Vault and Fireside Chats. Your progress, badges and unlocked rewards are also lost, and private sessions go back to the non-member rate.

If you just need a break, you can pause your membership for up to three months instead. Your progress stays saved, and you can pick up right where you left off. And if you do cancel, you’re always welcome back on the trail.

Your dog's still on the line.

If you're ready to do the work, we're ready to guide you.
